Wood Run is a coached session based in Ecclesall woods which takes place Thursday mornings at 9:30am. For the Big Running Weekend, the wood run team are laying on a series of sessions looking at many different aspects of running.
All of these sessions are perfect for beginners and more experienced runners alike and it really doesn't matter how fit you are.
10am - Technique
How can we improve our running technique and then keep the progress going? This straightforward workshop will cover the key aspects of running Technique and using running drills to firmly cement the movement patterns.
1pm - Strength
To run with good form, strength is essential. So building strength is important and discovering relevant exercises is all part of this session. Using the environment around we will show you some of the things you can be doing to help develop your strength.
4pm - Stability
Stability whilst we run can help in so many ways not just in avoiding injury, it can also help us to move with better economy and also to run that little bit quicker.
An active core is essential to this. That is what this workshop will be all about.
11am and 1pm - Family Wood Run
Bring the whole family along! Our Family WoodRuns are much in demand and always full to the brim – especially with laughs.
We will challenge you and the youngsters to running drills, hoping and jumping games and plenty of family orientated running. All appropriate to age and helping to develop good movement and speedy youngsters.
We will be out for a little over an hour and be running for around 3km in total. Its’s not about the distance, but it is about the effort!
